Installation Guide
Quooker Installation Requirements — Complete Guide
Installing a Quooker boiling water system is a straightforward process for a qualified professional, but requires careful planning. This guide covers everything you need to know about installation requirements, cabinet space, power needs, and more.
Important: Professional Installation Recommended
Quooker systems require connection to your cold water supply and mains electricity. We strongly recommend installation by a qualified, registered plumber or Kitchen fitter. Incorrect installation can void your warranty and create safety risks. If your professional has any questions about installation, refer them to the official Quooker installation manuals.
Cabinet Space Requirements
The reservoir is the largest component and goes under your sink. Measure your cabinet carefully:
| Reservoir | Height | Width | Depth | Min. Cabinet |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PRO3 | 320mm | 280mm | 280mm | 350mm wide × 350mm deep |
| COMBI | 430mm | 280mm | 280mm | 350mm wide × 350mm deep |
| COMBI+ | 520mm | 280mm | 280mm | 350mm wide × 350mm deep |
Key measurements:
- Cabinet must be at least 350mm wide and 350mm deep
- Leave at least 20mm clearance around the reservoir for air circulation
- The CUBE unit (if included) adds 220 mm × 280 mm × 280mm — plan for additional space
- Extension sets available for deeper worktops (30cm, 60cm, 100cm, 150cm)
Electrical Requirements
- Standard 230V/50Hz power outlet (EU)
- Reservoir power cable: 1.5 metres
- Maximum distance from power outlet: 1.5 metres (unless using extension)
- Power consumption: 1,100W (heating) / ~10W standby
- Reservoir must be on a dedicated circuit or shared with low-power appliances
- CUBE (if included): requires separate 220V connection, 0.5m cable
Water Connection
- Cold water supply: 3/8" compression fitting (standard in most EU countries)
- Maximum water pressure: 2–6 bar (reduce if above 6 bar)
- Water hardness: all types acceptable; descaling recommended annually in hard water areas
- Minimum distance from water supply: within 1.5 metres
- Flexible hose included: 60cm (extension available if needed)
Worktop Requirements
- Tap hole diameter: 35mm (standard kitchen tap hole size)
- Worktop thickness: up to 45mm (standard). For thicker worktops, use extension sets
- Single hole needed for COMBI/COMBI+ reservoirs (integrated cold water)
- Two holes needed for PRO3 + separate cold tap, OR for Fusion twin-handle models
- Minimum distance from sink: 100mm (for spout clearance)
Installation Process Overview
Step 1: Prepare the Cabinet
Clear the area under your sink. Ensure the reservoir fits with 20mm clearance on all sides. Check that the power outlet is accessible.
Step 2: Install the Tap
Feed the tap cable through the 35mm hole in your worktop. Secure the tap with the mounting plate. Connect the reservoir water line to the tap.
Step 3: Connect the Reservoir
Connect the reservoir to the cold water supply using the included 3/8" fitting. Connect the electrical cable to the power outlet. Check for leaks.
Step 4: Connect CUBE (if applicable)
If you have the Quooker CUBE system, connect it between the reservoir and the cold water supply. Connect the CO₂ line (cylinder ordered separately through your local Quooker office).
Step 5: Commission the System
Turn on the water supply. Wait 15–20 minutes for the reservoir to fill and heat. Flush the system according to the manual. Your Quooker is now ready.
Tools Required
- Adjustable spanner or 3/8" wrench
- Drill with 35mm hole saw (if no existing tap hole)
- Level
- PTFE tape (for thread sealing)
- Screwdriver
- Multimeter (to verify power)
Installation Time
- Professional installation: 1–2 hours
- Complex installations (drilling worktop, extending plumbing): 2–3 hours
- CUBE installation: add 30–45 minutes
After Installation
Once installed, the system takes approximately 20 minutes to heat the water to 100°C. The reservoir will then maintain boiling temperature automatically.
