Quooker Descaling Guide for Hard Water Areas

Quooker Descaling Guide for Hard Water Areas

Hard water is the biggest threat to your Quooker's performance — here's how to protect your system.

Why Descaling Matters

Limescale buildup reduces heating efficiency, restricts water flow, and can eventually damage the reservoir. In hard water areas (most of Belgium, southern UK, central Europe), descaling every 3 months is essential.

Descaling Process

  • Empty the reservoir
  • Add Quooker descaling solution (citric acid based)
  • Run a heating cycle
  • Flush thoroughly

Prevention

The AC+HF filter reduces limescale buildup significantly. Combined with regular descaling, your Quooker will perform like new for decades.

FAQ

  • Can I use vinegar to descale? Only Quooker-approved descaling solution — vinegar can damage seals.
  • How do I know if I need descaling? Slower water flow, unusual noises, or reduced water temperature.
